Parish Council and Committees

Parish Pastoral Council

The Parish Pastoral Council of the Church of St. William is a visionary body, devoted to fulfilling the mission of the parish through prayerful reflection, study and planning. It is consulted by the Pastor and is dependent upon him for its identity and purpose. The primary role of the Council is to reflect upon the ever-changing pastoral needs of the parish and help create a vision that will strengthen our mission.

For more information about the council, refer to their constitution.

During the Season of Lent 2009 the Parish Pastoral Council invites you to explore a deeper understanding of Stewardship.  Please take some time to read the material they have provided and see how stewardship plays a role in your everyday life.  New information will be added each week throughout Lent.  See:  Understanding Stewardship.

Pastoral Care Committee

The Pastoral Care Committee oversees those ministries responding to people in need of comfort and support.  Through these ministries the parish manifests the healing love of Jesus Christ in times of illness, hospitalization, family stress, dying and death.  Other areas include:  Loaves & Fishes, Respect Life, Meals on Wheels, and Separated/Divorced/Widowed Support.

Social Justice Committee

The Social Justice Committee provides leadership within the parish to encourage all members to respond to the call to be just people.  This is done by promoting the causes of justice, peace and unity in cooperation with other denominations and across civic boundaries.

Worship Committee

The Worship Committee prepares the people for the liturgy and the liturgy for the people so that we might live as we worship, by centering our life as a parish on the Eucharist and prayer.  The committee helps guide, plan and implement those activities that enable parishioners to participate more fully in the liturgy.
