Parish Visitors

Parish Visitors are trained parish members who visit parishioners in their homes or care facilities, bringing prayer and communion to those who are unable to regularly participate in parish life.

Parish Visitors accept people as they are without telling them how they should be.  They listen with compassion without giving advice.  They allow others to make their own decisions without trying to decide for them.  Our visitors provide an opportunity for those they befriend to grow.

Becoming a Parish Visitor provides one means for individuals to respond to their baptismal call to ministry.  Through a partnership of clergy and laity, it also serves the purpose of expanding the capacity of a church or other organization to provide pastoral care.

If you or someone you know would like to be visited by a Parish Visitor, or you would like to know more about becoming one, please contact Jim Wagner at 763-571-5600 or e-mail jwagner@stwilliams.com.

Hospital and Nursing Home Visits

The Church of Saint William also provides for the pastoral needs of Catholic patients at Unity Hospital by its volunteers who take communion to those patients each Sunday morning.  In addition, we provide pastoral care to residents at Lynwood Health Center with monthly celebration of Eucharist as well as regular visits to our parish members who are residents there.
